Hi! I’m Jane Foster, and I love to share style at any age, any size, and any price! My love for fashion and decor has become a passion, and I believe that we mid-lifers have so much to offer in that department.

This blog is a tribute to everything my mother taught me. She used to tell me all the time, “Just let your little light shine,” and it is my mantra and the way I try to live my life. So, Southern Shine was born.

I have traveled all over the South as a former sales representative for Mississippi Magazine, and boutiques were my favorite clients. I recognize the importance that local businesses have in their communities, and that is why you will always see some “local love” here on my site in addition to online finds.

Another thing I learned from my mother is to put a lot of effort into making people feel special through entertaining. I go WAY over the top when I host any gathering, especially when my husband and I tailgate in The Grove at Ole Miss football games. Our spot that my husband and I founded and host along with our friends is affectionately known as the Zebra Tent, and it has been featured in the New York Times, Southern Living, Food Network, Pickler & Ben, and more! Seriously, Google it. It is OVER THE TOP. So as you can see, I also love to share entertaining and party food ideas.
